Orthodics? clearing up the confusion

Clearing Up The Confusion
Orthotics often misspelled as orthodics is the medical field responsible for the development and application of orthoses which are intended for remedial use to correct abnormal or irregular walking patterns by alleviating the stress points in the foot and redistributing the weight evenly.
Orthotic inserts for shoes are used to relieve and treat the following conditions:
An abnormally contracted toe or toes, usually occurring in the last three toes of the foot and caused by a muscle imbalance in the foot. This condition can be resolved through the use of corrective orthotic inserts as it develops over time, however leaving this condition untreated for lengthy periods of time may result in mandatory surgery.
